Overview

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Water/Wastewater Electrical Controls Engineer to join CHA for support of water and wastewater projects in our office locations of Blacksburg, VA; Richmond, VA; Indianapolis, IN; Rochester, NY; Albany, NY; or Parsippany, NJ.

Responsibilities

 Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Acts as a lead engineer in performing design work in the fields of control and instrumentation systems, power distribution, lighting, and communications for projects.
  • Performs QA/QC of electrical projects.
  • Coordinates with junior engineers and CADD staff on design.
  • Prepares proposals for new projects.
  • Participates in professional and technical associations.
  • Leads entry and junior level engineers.
  • Completes field assignments, when appropriate.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant design work for water and wastewater plants and pump stations.
  • P.E. is required.
  • Instrumentation and Controls experience required.
  • PLC and DCS system topology experience required.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater processes required.
  • Electrical power distribution and motor control required.
  • Knowledge of NEC and relevant NFPA codes is required.
  • AutoCAD and BIM experience is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Has a strong ability to work and/or lead in a team environment.
  • Familiar with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering.
