Overview

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Intermediate to Senior Professional Electrical Engineer for our Albany, NY office location. CHA may also consider the following locations for this position:

 

  • Syracuse, NY
  • Rochester, NY
  • Rocky Hill, CT
  • Parsippany, NJ
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • Richmond, VA

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved with all phases of engineering, from conceptual design through detailed engineering and will be responsible for short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination and load flow studies, design of high/medium/low voltage systems including development of single line/three-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, relay logic diagrams, equipment layouts, etc. and other general design calculations. Other general project duties could include assisting with the preparation of equipment specifications, sizing and selecting equipment, cost estimating, economic evaluation of projects and site investigations. Experience with electrical power system analysis software and instrumentation and controls are assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 10 years related work experience in the electric utility, power plant, cogeneration or power distribution industry.
  • P.E. required.
  • Candidates specifically possessing high voltage substation, protection and controls, distributed generation and/or distribution system engineering experience would be preferred.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills are required. Leadership skills required for Project Engineer/Management opportunities.
