    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager for our Atlanta, GA office. 


    The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the management and oversight of assigned projects, serving in a lead management role on transportation projects. The position will also require management and technical oversight of highway staff, as well as business development activities, industry involvement, client and business partner interaction, and collaboration in the pursuit identification, strategy and preparation of proposals to secure work.


    The successful candidate must be pragmatic and technically astute in transportation engineering and have a proven background of management leadership on transportation projects. Knowledge of GDOT requirements for both technical and project management policies including the PDP and other relevant guidance is preferred.


    • Manages staff workloads, schedules and technical development activities
    • Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects
    • Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction
    • Implements the firm’s project delivery
    • Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts
    • Coordinates work efforts and reviews of work performed by project team. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives
    • Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Develops and enhances key client relationships and serve as one of the primary company contacts
    • Have full managerial responsibility for all aspects of the project including scope development, contract negotiations, cost control, staff management, quality control and cash management
    • Administer relevant aspects of a formal quality control program
    • Identify and market additional business opportunities with key clients in the Atlanta, GA region


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
    • 15+ years of transportation experience required
    • At least 6+ years in the Project Manager role preferred
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required, Georgia License preferred or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
    • Experience on GDOT highway/transportation projects is required.
    • Experience in a department or group management role is preferred
    • Established relationships within the industry required.
    • Possesses strong business development skills.
    • Demonstrates strong project management qualities and excellent knowledge of project management processes.
    • Experience with putting together winning proposals and delivering presentations for new work. 
    • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationships skills.
