Overview

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Rochester, NY OR Syracuse, NY office.

 

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assigned projects by Sr. Project Managers. The Assistant Project Manager position is a great growth opportunity for a professional seeking to grow in a Project Management career path.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of civil, utility, manufacturing, and/or environmental projects.
  • Meets with clients to communicate project updates and scope of work.
  • Coordinates with regulators and permitting agencies if required.
  • Coordinates with technical groups during execution of technical scope of work.
  • Assists in developing proposals including technical scope, project scheduling and professional fee. 
  • Manages contracts, invoices clients and facilitates timely accounts receivable.
  • Provides external presentations (i.e. clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.).
  • Completes field assignments when appropriate.

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree Engineering (or related degree) required.
  • 3 years of electrical, mechanical or civil engineering design and/or project management experience related to electrical/mechanical/civil required.
  • Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel) required.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and leadership skills required.
  • Ability to track and oversee multiple projects required.
  • Strong ability to work and/or lead in a team environment required.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed required.
  • Valid US driver’s license required.
  • Able to take direction and follow through procedure independently.
  • Self-starting and willing to ask questions/move projects forward independently.

Preferred:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • EIT Preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
