Overview

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a mid to senior level Environmental Engineer to join our Albany, NY or Syracuse, NY office.

 

The Environmental Engineer will lead deliverables to clients; this position will meet challenging deadlines and lead the project team to success. This position offers work on a variety of environmental projects. We are seeking a motivated individual who can take ownership of projects,  perform technical work requiring judgment and independent evaluation, and mentor to junior level staff. This position will empower driven individuals to work with a diverse team of environmental scientists, geologists and engineers across many fields and an array of dynamic projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of remedial alternatives and approaches.
  • Preparation of remedial design plans and specifications.
  • Coordination of environmental site investigations and reporting.
  • Environmental compliance auditing, reviews and permit assistance.
  • Preparation/authoring of work plans and reports.
  • Some project management, including managing project budgets, resources, and implementation of quality control processes. 
  • Providing construction administration support and cost estimating services.
  • Preparation of proposals.
  • Interfaces with senior management, clients and regulatory agencies. 
  • Helps support the development of junior level staff within our technical group and leading project teams.
  • Assistance with managing client relationships to develop additional business opportunities.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering required.
  • P.E. license required.
  • 8 years of experience with environmental monitoring and environmental remediation design is required.
  • Knowledge of environmental investigations remediation techniques required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Ability to mentor staff and be detail-oriented.
  • Valid US driver’s license is required.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10 years of experience with environmental monitoring and environmental remediation design is required preferred.
  • Experience with environmental compliance regulations preferred.
  • HAZWOPER and OSHA training preferred.
