Overview

Novara GeoSolutions LLC. is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager for our Indianapolis, IN office.

 

This is a seller-doer role.  The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for generating new and repeat revenue as well as the management and oversight of his/her assigned projects to ensure the client is satisfied and the project is within scope, budget and schedule. This individual will be measured on revenue generated in addition to meeting their project’s productivity factor, delivery schedule and quality. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop project proposal – This individual will participate with the company’s VP of Sales and Marketing and the assigned Marketing Coordinator to add input in the development of the technical scope, staffing plan, and pricing.
  • Assign team to project – Once the Director of Project Delivery assigns a project to the Sr. Project Manager, this individual will work closely with the Director of Project Delivery to select which individuals will be assigned to the project based on their skill sets and availability.
  • Manage client relationship – The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring all of the client’s needs are met and addressing issues that arise during the project. It is essential that this individual is present at crucial client meetings.  After the project is complete, this individual will strive to sustain the relationship with the client to cultivate repeat business or expanded software and/or services.
  • Manage the financial responsibilities – This individual will work closely with the Project Accountants to ensure the client is invoiced and the company is paid in a timely manner. He/she will also be responsible for establishing, tracking, and communicating the project budget and the percentage spent on the project versus the percentage of project completion. This individual will be responsible for obtaining Extra Work Authorizations and budgets for projects that require additional scope to be executed.
  • Handle work plan development, execution, and monitoring – Prior to the project’s kick-off meeting, this individual will be responsible for creating a written document outlining the project’s goals and objectives, scope, staffing, budget, schedule, coordination efforts, and quality check responsibilities. Once the project begins, the Sr. Project Manager will continue to monitor the project’s performance, communicate regularly with key individuals assigned to the project, and address any matters that arise.
  • Hold internal/external team meetings regularly – This individual will be responsible for coordinating regular meetings to discuss the project’s progress, address any issues that arise, and ensure all individuals involved in the project are well-informed.
  • Handle problem resolution – When issues arise, this individual will be responsible for understanding the matter and trying to find solutions to minimize the impact.
  • Allocate billable time to projects within market – The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for meeting a utilization goal by performing work on billable projects.
  • Serve as a mentor to technical staff – This individual will mentor the technical staff in project management to develop them into future Project Managers.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, M.S. is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience is required.
  • Experience working in the information technology and aviation markets is required.
  • Technically astute and strategic in thinking to properly position a project for strong financial performance.
  • Extensive knowledge of standard practices within appropriate discipline.
  • Demonstrates strong project management qualities and has excellent knowledge of project management processes.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of his/her market.
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups.
  • Ability to handle holding critical conversations with internal and external clients.
  • Collaborative and highly adept at building and maintaining effective working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Strong experience with project budgeting.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of internal accounting processes.
