Overview

CHA, Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our Survey Group the summer of 2018. We’re seeking candidates at the following locations:

 

Albany, NY

Rochester, NY

Norwell, MA

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of these individuals will be to support the field crew operations of our group.  The projects that you will be exposed to will include boundary surveys, collection of existing conditions, photo-control surveys, roadway and utility corridor surveys, potential for inshore hydrographic surveys, potential for precise measurement surveys and high order precise leveling.

 

Technology that you will be exposed to includes:

  • Trimble and Leica GPS systems.
  • Leica total stations (standard and robotic).
  • Allegro data collectors with Carlson Data Collection Software.
  • Leica HD Laser Scanner.

Qualifications

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be in the process of obtaining a degree in Surveying (associates or bachelor’s) or a related degree with high interest in pursuing a surveying career; must be enrolled in college for fall 2018.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn from others in the industry.
  • Desire to follow direction with respect to technical/QA procedures and safe workplace requirements.
  • Desire to work within diverse environments (urban, suburban and rural).
  • Willingness and availability to travel, generally for short periods of time.
  • Must have valid US driver’s license.
