CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Seasonal Construction Engineer to be based out of our Rocky Hill, CT or Parsippany, NJ office. This position will be supporting a client in the White Plains, NY area.


  • Daily inspection and observation of on-site construction activities.
  • Maintain Construction Records
    • Maintains daily and weekly construction observation forms.
    • Tracks and keeps records of all pay quantities on a daily basis
    • Records approved contract changes for as-built records.
    • Reviews and verifies contractor's payment application.
    • Photograph log of construction activities.
  • Coordinates the quality assurance testing programs.
  • Coordinates Construction Change Orders.
  • Coordinates work with the construction contractor.
  • Interactions with airport, FAA, NYSDOT, and local permitting agencies.
  • Develops agendas and summaries of all construct related meetings.


  • 10+ years of construction inspection experience and/or civil design experience. 
  • Must demonstrate proactive communication skills.
  • Must have experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience with earthwork, drainage, airfield paving, and airfield lighting systems is preferred.
  • Travel maybe required. 
  • Able to pass an Airport Security background check.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel software.


Physical requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach/use of hands and arms.
  • Ability to work through different seasons and weather conditions.
  • Ability to reach, carry, lift and push and/or pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
