Civil Engineering/Designer- Aviation Services

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Designer/Technican in our Cleveland, OH office to assist with preparation of engineering design plans and exhibits for airfield improvement projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, roadways, and utilities.

Primary responsibilities will be the preparation of engineering plans, cross sections, and exhibits utilizing Civil 3D. Specific skillset shall include plan sheet set-up, use of sheet set manager, managing and maintaining reference files (including topographic survey data), data input for pipe networks, establishing alignments, and drafting as directed by engineering staff . 

Additional responsibilities may include part-time construction inspection (including documentation of construction activities and quantification of work elements completed) and construction item quantity take-offs and calculations.  

• 3+ years of drafting  experience using Civil 3D for site development or municipal civil infrastructure projects is required; 7-10 years of relevant experience preferred.
• A.A.S. in Engineering Technology or Engineering Science preferred
• Proficiency with Civil 3D required
• Proficiency with BlueBeam software preferred
• Proficiency with ESRI GIS Mapping software preferred
• Proficiency in visual imagery software preferred
• Understanding of State Plane Coordinate System is required
• Familiarity and use of National CAD Standards as relates to CAD Layers, Symbols, Sheet Organization, Drawing Set Organization, etc. is preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills, strong working knowledge of Civil 3D, strong ability to work in a team environment
