  • Overview

    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Lead Traffic Engineer for our growing Traffic Engineering Technical Group. 

    This position can sit in any of our below CHA offices with the willingness to travel. 

    Atlanta, Georgia

    Indianapolis, Indiana

    Columbus, Ohio

    Boston/Norwell, MA

    Albany, NY


    • Serves in a lead technical role on traffic projects. Manages technical staff within squad, and plan workload allocation.
    • Performs as a technical specialist on projects and supervise more junior engineers in the performance of engineering tasks.
    • Project and task management, development of technical study reports and assists in development of department technical policy and procedures.
    • Prepares and supervises preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Mentors junior staff.


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
    • At least 5 years of progressive traffic engineering experience required. 
    • PE is required.
    • Experience on INDOT transportation projects preferred. 
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams. Experienced with project budgeting, planning and tracking.
    • Strong communication skills and enthusiastic to work in a team environment
    • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups. Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationships skills.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of technical and quality control processes. Valid driver’s license required.
