  • Overview

    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a  Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater team and work on a variety of projects. The primary focus of the CHA Water/Wastewater team is to develop innovative technical solutions to water and wastewater projects, provide a better understanding of the key social/economic implications associated with clean water and to experience, and participate in service-learning opportunities. CHA is seeking candidates interested career development on a growing, successful team.

     

    This position is open at the following CHA office locations:

    • Blacksburg, VA
    • Richmond, VA
    • Indianapolis, IN
    • Albany, NY
    • Buffalo, NY
    • Columbus, OH

    Responsibilities

    • Design of water/wastewater distribution and conveyance systems, including hydraulic analyses, water/wastewater storage systems, piping, and wastewater pump stations design.
    • Water/wastewater process/treatment design for both municipal and industrial systems.
    • Prepares detailed design calculations and design reports.
    • Complete detailed project design plans and specifications.
    • Manages construction administration services including shop drawing reviews, payment application reviews, and technical support during construction.
    • Performs internal QA/QC of design.
    • Coordinates with other engineering disciplines to complete project designs.
    • Attends client meetings; coordinate communications to client(s), and meets with client(s).
    • Mentors entry level staff members and interns at times, as needed.
    • Travels to client sites as needed (mostly local).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering required.
    • PE license is required.
    • A minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering experience related to water/wastewater design.
    • Must have experience using AutoCAD, WaterCAD, and SewerCAD.
    • Microsoft Office experience required
    • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
    • Good organizational skills required.
    • Minimal travel required to clients sites, which are typically local.

    Preferred:

    • Master’s degree preferred.
    • ArcGIS, Revit, and AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
