    Novara, a CHA Company, is currently seeking a part-time Database Developer for our Colonie, NY office. 

     

    The Junior Database Developer will be responsible for assisting with the planning, design, development, and testing of a wide variety of custom database and reporting applications. This individual will provide work as part of a team of database developers using widely accepted technologies including Microsoft Access, SQL Server and reporting applications.  He/she will work closely with the senior database development team in order to understand complex relational database requirements and translating those to robust, scalable solutions.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in developing and supporting small and large-scale database applications.
    • Designs and creates database tables and relationships.
    • Retrieves and manipulates data using queries in MS Access and SQL Server.
    • Creates and modifies forms and reports in MS Access.
    • Performs QA/QC testing.
    • Assists in developing basic system documentation.
    • Provides technical support for database applications as needed.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field is required, or an Associate’s Degree and equivalent professional experience.
    • 5+ year of experience developing and supporting database applications.
    • Understanding of relational database management systems and Structured Query Language (SQL).
    • Experience programming in Microsoft Access.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
    • Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as SQL Reporting Service and Power BI a plus.
    • Ability to handle multiple ongoing projects in a team environment.
    • Must have high energy level, high degree of integrity, self-motivated, positive attitude, proactive approach to work, & demonstrates confidence.
    • Can work independently with minimal supervision, yet works closely with other development team members.
