  • Overview

    CHA Tech Services (CHATS) is seeking a Construction Superintendent. The Construction Superintendent will be working on client sites throughout New Jersey. 


    We are accepting applications of candidates from all locations, including inside and outside of the state of New Jersey. Project sites will be based in the state of New Jersey.


    The Construction Superintendent will be CHATS’s primary point of contact at the project site and will be the liaison between the General Contractor, our Client, an independent 3rd Party Project Management Team and the CHA design team.


    • Provide full-time management services and act as the Owners / Design Team’s primary point of contact for all site activities by addressing and spearheading the resolution of construction / design related issues, etc. as they arise.
    • Document construction via daily reports, photos and status reports.
    • Assist in the coordination and management of the shop drawing / submittal process in an effort to expedite the process.
    • Coordinate and conduct regular project meetings, representing the Client.  Prepare and distribute meeting summaries / action item lists.
    • Coordinate and monitor 3rd party inspections and see that test reports are completed and submitted in accordance with the specifications.
    • Review change order requests submitted by the General Contractor, provide recommendation on change order requests to Client.
    • Log, track and expedite General Contractor requests for information (RFI) to and from the engineering team.
    • Receive and review contractor payment applications, make recommendations for payment.
    • Prepare and submit to Client regular project status reports.
    • Assist the design team in developing preliminary and final punch lists.
    • Assist as required in the process of obtaining final approvals and certificate of occupancy.
    • Coordinate the preparation and submission of operation & maintenance manuals (as required) to be submitted by contractors / vendors.
    • Obtain for Client all warranty / guarantee documentation.
    • Work with the General Contractor to see that as-builts are properly prepared and submitted.
    • Coordinate submission of final, unconditional lien releases.
    • Possess complete working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, the contract with Client, daily correspondences, shop drawings, submittals and all other project related documents. Maintain a complete and accurate set of as-builts.  Maintain a set of contract documents that contains all the current contract changes and clarifications.
    • Work closely with the Project Manager and client representatives to keep them apprised of the progress and notify them of any issues that are being addressed.


    • High school diploma required; Associate degree in construction preferred, or equivalent industry experience. 
    • 5+ years of construction superintendent experience in industrial, mechanical and/or electrical construction.
    • Experience with industrial and/or heavy commercial projects ranging in size from $5M to $20M.
    • Must demonstrate problem-solving skills, the ability to exercise discretion and the ability to make independent judgments.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office suite required. 
    • Experience with MS Project preferred, but not required. 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
    • Ability to understand and interpret client’s contracts.
    • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
    • Must be professional, dedicated and focused.
    • Must provide a high level of service and responsiveness to client and co-workers.
    • Valid US driver's license required.
    • Ability to travel required; project sites are in the state of NJ.  
    • Ability to physically navigate the field and work in different weather conditions required.
