    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a part-time Principal Utilities Specialist for our Rocky Hill, CT office.


    The Utilities Specialist is responsible for providing support associated with a variety of utility distribution projects, either electric or gas. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Closes out clients construction work orders utilizing the client's GIS, Sap and other electronic systems. 
    • Travels and surveys existing utility distribution systems to collect data regarding existing system configuration.
    • Reviews existing system configuration and develops designs to accommodate client’s desired system modifications.
    • Collects real estate information to facilitate installation of utilities.
    • Designs specific utility distribution projects according to client’s standards.
    • Is proficient in application of client’s design and construction standards, and operating procedures.


    • A high school degree is required; Associate's degree is preferred.
    • 15+ years of utilities experience is required.
    • Strong knowledge of overhead line construction and/or gas distribution construction.
    • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel is required.
    • Good oral and written communication skills required.
    • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
    • Must have valid US driver's licence.
    • Must have the ability to physically navigate the field.
    • Ability to travel (85%).
