  • Overview

    CHA Consulting, Inc., is currently seeking a Site Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Group in our Norwell, MA office. 

     

    This position will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of civil/site engineering, land development, stormwater management and infrastructure projects from conceptual design through construction. 

    Responsibilities

    • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of civil site, land development, municipal and water/wastewater projects.
    • Assists the preparation of engineering plans, details, reports, specifications and construction cost estimates.
    • Civil/Site design of roadways, parking lots, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, utilities and construction details.
    • Experience with preparation and/or review of site plan applications preferred.
    • Completes field assignments, such as data collection and construction observation, when appropriate.
    • Assists in Bid phase services such as preparing project specifications, bid addendum, response to requests for information, review of bidders qualification and recommendation of award.
    • Participates in Construction engineering services such as shop drawing review, payment application, change order requests, developing punch lists and construction observation.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is required.
    • 1+ year of civil engineering professional work experience and/or internship experience in land development, municipal, stormwater management, and water/wastewater highly preferred.
    • Fundamentals in Engineering (F.E.) is preferred, with ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license within 5 years is preferred.
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and stormwater software: HydroCad and StormCAD is preferred.
    • Experience in Site Plan permitting procedures is preferred.
    • Results oriented, with a collaborative work style and strong communication skills required.
    • Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
