    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a mid-level Transmission Line Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN office. If candidates are willing to travel to Indianapolis often for work, we may be open to other CHA office locations including but not limited to:

     

    Albany, NY

    Columbus, OH

    Norwell, MA

     

    The Transmission Line Engineer will be responsible for providing line designs for Utility clients throughout the United States including foundation designs for drilled piers. We're seeking a self-motivated individual who is eager to grow in their career. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Delivers designs for Transmission lines up to 345kV.
    • Coordinates the deliverables of design packages.
    • Produces design calculations and drawings, including Plan-Profiles, structure drawings, load and concept drawings, PLS-CADD modeling and foundations (MFAD).
    • Performs inspections and structural assessment of existing structures, including preparation of reports and client presentations.
    • Works closely with designers, project managers and other members of the CHA design teams. 
    • Capability to lead a design team and work with clients to interpret and deliver projects.

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

    • B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
    • P.E. is required.

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years minimum of Transmission Line design experience is required.
    • Prior work experience with utilities, or at a utilities company, in the United States required.
    • Knowledge of current NESC, RUS, ANSI, ASCE, ACI codes required.
    • Knowledge of PLS-CADD, MFAD required. 
    • Experience using Microsoft Suite, in particular Excel and Word, required.
    • Ability to perform construction administration tasks for related designs required.
    • Ability to travel, as needed, required. (Note: candidates non-local to Indianapolis may travel more, especially for onboarding/training purposes).
    • Valid U.S. driver's license required.
    • AutoCAD experience highly preferred.
    • Candidates local to Indianapolis or willing to relocate to Indianapolis preferred, but not required.
