    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Manager of Design Technology Integration for the following offices:

     

    • Albany, NY
    • Indianapolis, IN
    • Norwell, MA
    • Syracuse, NY

     

    This Manager of Design Technology Integration will catapult, align, standardize, reinvent the Design System team to address the challenges faced in CAD/BIM environments. This position will be expected to significantly increase software adoption and improve project workflows and management throughout the entire organization.  Serve as a leader in researching, assessing, and implementing the most effective technological solutions for CHA’s project delivery.  This individual will be supporting multi-discipline projects that include but are not limited to Architectural, Aviation Design & Planning, Civil Engineering, Electrical, Geotechnical, Land Development, Mechanical, Sports, Structural, Transportation, and Water & Wastewater design and construction.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead a thorough assessment of the current state of our BIM-enabled workflows.
    • Build collaborative partnerships with CHA Groups Executives, Market Leaders, and Technical staff to foster relationships between CHA’s key businesses and Information Technology.
    • Develop the vision and strategy to enhance BIM processes and deliverables across all of CHA Companies’.
    • Present findings and initiatives to CHA’s Executive Team for feedback, and execute the strategic vision for advancing technology design integration throughout CHA.
    • Identify and develop strategies for knowledge transfer to efficiently adopt emerging technologies into routine design practices.
    • Develop and maintain a BIM implementation strategy and ensure it is in line with the national BIM standards.
    • Expansive experience in the field of implementation, training, and support services in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
    • Coach, mentor, and develop CHA staff on both your immediate team but also throughout the technical design teams at CHA, including providing career development planning and opportunities.
    • Lead research and development initiatives to elevate CHA’s position as an innovative leader in planning and design technology.
    • Propose pilot initiatives with Key performance indicators for technical, financial performance, and accountability.
    • Build a BIM marketing strategy for website and cut-sheets, and present capabilities to C-Suite Level of CHA Companies’ Clients and Client Advocacy Leaders (CLAD’s).
    • Consult with internal practice leaders to create successful BIM Execution Plans on strategic projects.
    • Develop, grow and lead a team of BIM Managers and Modelers for complex project delivery.
    • Provide leadership in related industry organizations by publishing technical papers, presenting at industry conferences and events to elevate CHA’s visibility as a BIM leader in architecture, engineering and construction management.
    • Ongoing management of BIM software vendor relationships and licensing models.
    • Planning, assigning, installing, configuring and evaluating AEC related software and hardware.
    • Oversee and support AEC software/hardware troubleshooting to resolution.
    • Consulting with IT Service Desk, Operations, and Infrastructure teams for resolving support issues.
    • Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting.
    • Strive for Autodesk's AEC Excellence Awards and Year in Infrastructure.
    • Potential for up to 20% travel.
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Architecture or related technical field required; MBA preferred.
    • A minimum of 15 years of design and project management experience on large infrastructure and building projects.
    • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in supervisory position.
    • Experience in workflow integration between ESRI/ArcGIS, Autodesk, and Bentley platforms.
    • ProjectWise, SharePoint, Primavera & Contract Manager, and mobile application.
    • Third tier support, troubleshooting, installation, configuring & evaluation of BIM/CAD and related Engineering applications.
    • Extensive experience using 3D modeling and BIM software, tools and workflows across multiple applications, including, but not limited to Autodesk, ESRI, Bentley, CADWorxx.
    • BIM management and collaboration experience with multiple disciplines on multiple platforms.
    • Experience evaluating the current State of Design in a multi discipline engineering firm and establishing recommendations for industry best practices, standards, and automations.
    • Extensive experience managing and guiding highly skilled CAD/BIM Technicians.
    • Proven ability to understand and address the needs of internal business partners and provide design solutions in a dynamic and changing environment.
    • Experience building relationships with software vendors and managing and negotiating multiyear software contracts.
    • Experience with online collaboration sites including but not limited to BIM360.
    • Effective communication regarding technology for a large (500+ person) multi-tiered, multi-disciplinary organization.
    • Strong business acumen with proven track record of achieving productivity and financial project success.
