    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Revit/CAD Designer to join our Colonie, NY office.

     

    The Electrical Engineering Designer is an individual who assists with preparation and creation of various types of engineering drawings; aids with drawing preparation under the guidance of more senior designers and project engineers.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to create and maintain BIM models.
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of Revit software, workflow, functions, and limitations.
    • Work with Engineers, Designers, and other trades to create contract documents.
    • Capable of developing smart schedules, families, and parameters to optimize design efforts.
    • Basic understanding of and experience with electrical design; understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection is a plus.

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

    • Associates degree required; discipline in Electrical Engineering Technology or Engineering Science preferred.

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Designer REVIT/CADD Technician required.
    • Understanding of electrical systems and system design is required.
    • Good oral and written communication skills are required.
    • Strong ability to work in a team environment required.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite required.
    • Familiarity and use of National CAD Standards as it relates to CAD Layers, Symbols, Sheet Organization, Drawing Set Organization, etc. is preferred.
    • Familiarity and use of BlueBeam software preferred.
