    CHA Consulting, Inc is currently seeking a Survey Party Chief for our Norwell, MA office (greater Boston area).

     

    The Party Chief is responsible for using his/her thorough surveying knowledge to lead the field crew through any survey assignments. This individual will be measured on his/her flexibility and ability to complete assigned tasks.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Directs and leads field crew members during survey assignments.
    • Fully familiar with the firm’s safety, field and office procedures.
    • Supervises, participates in, and coordinates surveying projects and goal establishment.
    • Performs all field calculations pertaining to traversing, map interpretation and layout.
    • Performs record research, construction stakeout, boundary, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys utilizing total stations, data collectors, fathometers, GPS and laser scanners.
    • Calculates and verify computations and create and verify sketches and CAD drawings.
    • Reviews plans and legal documents to appropriately plan and schedule work.
    • Other related duties, as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

    • A.A.S. degree in surveying or a related field preferred.
    • NSPS-CST Level II certification preferred.

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • 3 years minimum of surveying experience is required.
    • Must have experience using with Microsoft Office.
    • Good oral and written communications required.
    • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the surveying industry
    • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
    • Must be able to carry equipment over rough, uneven terrain, and physically navigate field
    • Ability to travel required
    • Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions required.
    • Valid US driver’s license required.
    • AutoCAD design software & MicroStation software experience is preferred.
