    CHA Consulting, Inc is currently seeking a Surveying Technician for our Norwell, MA office. 

     

    The Surveying Technician is responsible for obtaining and handling data and internal survey assignments utilizing CADD software. This individual will measure, record, and calculate data based on his/her findings and assist in creating drawings and computer images of the project site.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for the familiarity and application of the field operations, types of surveys, and field equipment & procedures used to collect data.
    • Utilizes Land Development software to process field data, complete boundary calculations and digital terrain models/contours, and to prepare finished mapping products.
    • Performs record research for boundary and utility information.
    • Other related duties, as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

     

    • High school degree required; associates degree in surveying or related field preferred.
    • NSPS-CST Level II Certification preferred.

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • 2 years of surveying experience is required.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office is required.
    • AutoCAD design software experience is required.
    • Basic knowledge in preparing written boundary descriptions required.
    • Good oral and written communications required.
    • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the surveying industry.
    • Must have strong ability to work in a team environment.
    • Must be able to carry equipment over rough, uneven terrain and physically navigate field.
    • Ability to travel required.
    • Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions required
    • Valid US driver’s license required.
    • MicroStation & Inroads software experience is preferred.
