    CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our Indianapolis, IN.


    • Responsible for coordinating structural engineering design within a multidisciplinary team for manufacturing, commercial, federal, municipal, aviation, healthcare, educational, and sports related structures.
    • Directs small teams to execute the structural design of medium to large sized projects.
    • Develops structural design calculations involving steel, structural concrete, reinforced masonry and timber.
    • Prepares project specifications.
    • Develops technical design reports outlining applicable building/construction codes and system descriptions.
    • Responsible for technical accuracy of structural inspections and visual condition assessments.
    • Develops technical design reports assessing the structural and overall integrity of commercial and industrial facilities.
    • Conducts onsite survey and review of existing drawings to establish baseline conditions.
    • Develops and executes designs for rehabilitation of existing structures.
    • Creates/reviews cost estimates for building projects from preliminary design to bidding documents.


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration is required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
    • Licensed Structural Engineer preferred.


    • 10+ years of structural building design experience is required.
    • Experience in concrete, masonry and structural steel design is required. 
    • Experience performing construction administration related tasks for completed designs such as construction inspections, shop drawing review, answering contractor questions and RFI’s.
    • Must have knowledge of current state and international building codes.
    • Knowledge of the following structural related software is a plus; RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, Enercalc, Tedds, REVIT.
    • Must be organized, flexible, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent work ethic and time management skills. 
    • Quality/Detail oriented.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must have ability to carry step and extension ladders as well as other field equipment used for building condition assessments. 
    • Willing and able to utilize and operate man lifts to perform assessments of building facades.
    • All applicable safety and man lift training will be provided as necessary.
