    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking Transmission Line Engineer II for our Norwell, MA or Rocky Hill (Hartford), CT office. 


    The Transmission Line Engineer will be responsible for providing line designs for Utility clients throughout the Northeast and United States including foundation designs for drilled piers. We're seeking a self-motivated individual who is eager to grow in their career. 


    • Delivers designs for Transmission lines up to 345kV, as part of a design team.
    • Coordinates the deliverables of design packages.
    • Produces design calculations and drawings, including Plan-Profiles, structure drawings, load and concept drawings, PLS-CADD modeling and foundations (MFAD).
    • Performs inspections and structural assessment of existing structures, including preparation of reports and client presentations.
    • Works closely with designers, project managers and other members of the CHA design teams. 
    • Capability to take direction from a design lead and work with clients to interpret and deliver projects.


    • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related degree is required.
    • EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain EIT within 1 year of hire required.


    • 1 year minimum of Transmission Line design experience is required.
    • Prior work experience with utilities, or at a utilities company, in the United States required.
    • Experience using Microsoft Suite, in particular Excel and Word, required.
    • Knowledge of construction administration tasks for related designs required.
    • Ability to travel, as needed, required.
    • Valid U.S. driver's license required.
    • Knowledge of and experience using PLS-CADD preferred.  
    • AutoCADD experience highly preferred.
    • Knowledge of MFAD and drilled pier foundation design preferred. 
    • Knowledge of current NESC, RUS, ANSI, ASCE, ACI codes preferred.
