    CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer IV to join our Transmission Line Group. The Engineer will be based at client site in Rockland County, NY. We are accepting resumes from candidates who do not live local to the client site, but are willing to travel to the client site weekly.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design in the fields of transmission, distribution & substation engineering.
    • Perform structural analysis and foundation analysis of steel and wood transmission and substation structures.
    • Utilize design knowledge and experience with various materials including, but not limited to: concrete, steel, and wood.
    • Work on medium to large sized utility projects while being mentored by senior engineer staff.
    • Mentor and oversight of junior engineer staff.
    • Work as a member of a design team on large structural projects and utility projects.
    • Coordinate with drafters and designers to develop contract drawings.
    • Perform project and construction administration tasks including editing specifications, attending project meetings, reviewing shop drawings, preparing cost estimates, writing reports, etc.
    • Travel to client site on an as-needed basis, including day trips and overnight stays, as projects require.
    • During the minimum one-year on-site contract term, the candidate will have four-night stays in order to report to the client office during the full work week.

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; structural emphasis or masters in structural engineering is preferred.
    • PE is required.

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years minimum of civil engineering experience required with a structural focus.
    • Transmission line experience preferred.
    • Experience using in MS Office Suite required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required.
    • Ability to work in a team environment required.
    • Valid U.S. driver’s license is required.
    • Must be willing to travel to client site and at times, CHA office locations.
    • Experience in civil site engineering duties such as: site grading, shoreline restoration and shoreline protection preferred.
    • Experience with  PLS CAD are preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera 6, or similar scheduling software is preferred.
