    CHA Consulting, Inc., is currently seeking an Entry Level Landscape Architect to join our Civil Technical Group in our Colonie, NY office.


    This position will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of civil/site engineering, land development, habitat restoration, urban retrofit, transportation,  stormwater management and green infrastructure projects from conceptual design through construction.


    • Performs landscape architectural-related tasks assigned at the direction of a mid or senior level landscape architect or engineer using the standards set by the company, group, client, etc. 
    • Involved in the development of planting plans and hardscape plans.
    • Development of high quality plan and perspective renderings/photosimulations in both digital and hand drawn formats.
    • Involved in the development of concept plans for a wide variety of projects.
    • Attend public hearings/meetings supporting team members.
    • Exposure to plan set development, specification and cost estimating on a project by project basis.
    • Work with the CHA graphic team on development of interpretive signage on a project by project basis.
    • Completes field assignments, i.e. when appropriate. Day and overnight travel may be required.
    • Other related duties, as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture is required.


    • No prior experience required; however, prior internships or office experience is a plus.
    • Autocad experience is required with Civil 3D preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Photoshop and Sketch Up is required with knowledge of Lumion, 3Ds Max a plus.
    • Knowledge of plant species and selection, with native plant selection a plus.
    • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and apply landscape architecture fundamentals and the engineering aspects associated with it.
    • Desire to become a valuable team member supporting a diverse team of landscape architects and engineers.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Presentation skills are a plus.
    • Strong ability to work independently to support team and client goals.
    • Desire to become a registered landscape architect.
    • Participation in a professional organization is preferred.
    • A portfolio is required with submission of a resume.
