    Novara GeoSolutions, a CHA Company, is currently seeking a GIS Technician to join our Colonie, NY office.


    • Performs data gathering, map making and data conversion tasks
    • Performs QA/QC of processed data
    • Performs the review of data in preparation for processing
    • Utilizes Esri and related GIS platforms for data capture and associated tasks
    • Performs intermediate database/geodatabase and metadata management tasks
    • Performs intermediate geo-processing and spatial analysis operations using GIS
    • Prepares intermediate cartographic maps as needed using GIS software
    • Develop basic project work flows
    • Assists GIS Tech I personnel with technical guidance and feedback
    • Maintains Novara standard for accuracy and quality
    • Performs other related duties, as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS certificate or related degree and 3 years of experience; or 5 years of experience working in GIS


    • Demonstrated ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro software skills and knowledge of geographically referenced data required (projections, datum, map scales, etc.)
    • Demonstrated Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
    • Experience configuring and working with GPS and tablet equipment.
    • Proficiency in data conversion and data tasks\
    • Familiarity with ESRI Survey123 or Collector a plus
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and perform tasks with a high degree of efficiency, accuracy and quality
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance details with the big picture
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
    • Proves to be solution oriented and client focused
    • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
    • Ability to conduct yourself in a professional manner with both internal and external customers
