    CHA Consulting, Inc., is currently seeking a Chief Inspector to join our CES-Transportation Group on our Port Jervis, NY client site.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Inspects and observes on-site construction activities
    • Maintains daily construction observation forms
    • Reviews and verifies contractor’s pay quantities and interaction with local government clients.
    • Uses accepted standards and procedures in the execution of duties.
    • Ensures the overall quality of the completed project.
    • Coordinates all project related issues.
    • Oversees and trains engineer’s field staff on the construction project
    • Report any site discrepancies to the Resident Engineer and assists in the resolution of them.
    • Some travel required
    • Other related duties, as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

    • A.S. degree in Engineering Science or Construction Services required
    • Possess NICET level III or IV certification

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • 10+ years of construction inspection experience is required and knowledge of NYSDOT construction administrative practices is preferred.
    • Knowledge of the Appia software system is preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office is preferred
    • Able to work independently
    • Good oral and written communications
    • Ability to understand and interpret client’s contracts
    • Excellent knowledge of and reinforces the company’s and client’s standards
    • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the construction industry
    • Ability to train lower level staff members.
    • Must be able to navigate through a construction site
