    CHA Consulting, Inc, is currently seeking a Sr. Engineer V to join our Highways group in the Indianapolis, IN office.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Independently completes complex development of engineering design, preparation of specifications, compiles technical reports and other activities requiring the knowledge of standard engineering principles and techniques
    • Responsible for Design-Build engineering design and plan development
    • Provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering
    • Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research within the respective field of engineering
    • Internally recognized as a skilled professional within his/her discipline
    • Works on advanced complex technical projects requiring extensive technical and industry knowledge
    • Responsible for the development of design computations, technical reports, technical specifications and preparation of the contract documents using the standards established by the technical group
    • Identifies, develops, and gathers technical resources necessary to complete assignments
    • Selects proper procedures to self-check his/her own work for completeness and accuracy in technical reports and calculations
    • Recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures established by the technical group
    • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design
    • Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
    • Collaborates with other engineering departments and coordinates their work to the development of his/her work
    • Continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production, uncover potential problems; minimize malfunction in executing a design and adhere to the project work plan
    • Can develop individual discipline work plans to coincide with the milestones of a project work plan
    • Complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints
    • Provides guidance and mentorship to junior level engineering staff members
    • Provides technical review of work completed by junior level engineering staff as necessary
    • Provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)
    • Independently completes field assignments
    • Performs other appropriate related engineering duties

    EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required

    SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required
    • Experience with plan development for Maintenance of Traffic is preferred
    • Experience with Design-Build projects is preferred
    • Experience with Indiana DOT (INDOT) projects and familiarity with INDOT standards is preferred
    • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
    • Proficiency with MS Office software required
    • Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
    • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (InRoads, MicroStation, HY8, AutoCAD Storm Sewer etc.)
    • Completely familiar with and advocates for the company’s standards for quality control and compliance
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • An active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
    • Proven ability to lead a team
