CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Industrial Facilities Business Line team in Parsippany, NJ. This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate with the team in-person.

At CHA, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from design development and technical analysis of mechanical systems, to monitoring progress and performance of project plans for multiple clients. This individual will have the opportunity to work on diverse energy projects and will provide energy modeling for clients in industry as well as for schools, colleges and universities, and multi-family housing units.

 

The Mechanical Engineer works independently on their own tasks while also collaborating with their team and providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.  This is a client-facing role and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally is paramount to success.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience is required
  • Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling software, specifically REVIT and load calculation software required.
  • HVAC, plumbing, and other design experience required.
  • Previous experience on energy projects and energy modeling is a plus.
  • Understands QA/QC procedures and having the ability to QA your work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences including clients and contractors.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to provide guidance to junior staff.
  • Participation in a professional engineering society/organization is a plus
