Our summer program aims to prepare students for the professional working environment and provide them with the best resources to be successful in their future careers. Over the 8 to 12-week duration of CHA’s summer internship program, our interns participate in authentic learning experiences that help them improve and develop skills.


CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently accepting applications for Land Surveying Summer Interns to join our organization in Norwell, MA; Hartford, CT; and Duluth, GA.


CHA's comprehensive approach to survey work and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is the hallmark of a successful project. We are focused on the use of advanced measurement technology to improve our process and results. Our robust quality assurance/quality control processes result in accurate and precise work.


The Survey Intern is responsible for supporting field and office related survey tasks undertaken by our Survey & SUE Team.  This is a technical internship position that will provide the student with a blend of field survey and office survey experience and assignments.  All field survey work conducted by a Survey Intern will be supervised by a crew chief or other similar level field staff. Office tasks will be completed in collaboration with senior surveyors and project managers.


  • Working towards degree in Land Surveying, Geospacial Technology, or related discipline
  • Attending a full-time matriculated bachelor’s degree program
  • Completed one full year of college (rising sophomore)
  • Candidates going into their junior or senior year of college are preferred
  • May 2023 graduates will not be accepted for CHA's Internship program
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office is required
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD design software, MicroStation & Inroads software is a plus
  • Good oral and written communications are required
  • Knowledge of the surveying industry is a plus
  • Possesses a strong ability and desire to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to carry equipment over rough, uneven terrain, and physically navigate varying field conditions
