CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an International Sprinkler Technician to join our Commercial & Institutional - Fire Protection Services Team at a client site in the Birmingham, AL area.    

YOUR IMPACT

CHA Fire Protection Services offers highly specialized fire protection engineering services and cutting-edge solutions to the most challenging fire protection projects. Our knowledgeable staff manages complex industrial, commercial and design/build fire protection projects, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, ground storage tanks, underground piping, and special hazards.

 

The International Sprinkler Technician is responsible for the complete installation of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial buildings according to standards.

 

The professional in this role assembles and installs a variety of metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, and copper. They are responsible for the installation and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment such as pumps and tanks.

 

Additionally, the International Sprinkler Technician interprets work specifications and fire codes, tests systems for leaks, and maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • OSHA 30 Training required or must obtain within 30 days of employment
  • No industry experience is required
  • Ability to read blueprints and redline fab drawings (preferred)
  • Ability to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working within ducts, crawl spaces, climbing a ladder, outside in the heat or cold, on lift equipment, or dirty environments
  • Ability to work at heights in a man lift and lift 50+ pounds above head
  • Must have excellent communication skills and positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Must be willing to travel internationally approximately 120-150 days a year 
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance required 

SALARY RANGE:

$26.44 - $32.69

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
