CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a CAD/Designer - Water & Wastewater to join our Infrastructure - Water/Wastewater Team at our office in Coral Springs, FL.

Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every community’s well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater and stormwater projects. We offer full engineering and support services for industrial and municipal systems from initial planning through permitting, design, bidding, construction administration, start-up, certification, and ongoing operational assistance.

 

At CHA, our CAD/Designer - Water & Wastewater is responsible for the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and/or documents. The professional in this role collaborates with senior engineering designers, mentors junior engineering designers and collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

 

The CAD/Designer - Water & Wastewater produces and revises routine drawings or sketches related to the engineering design with minimal oversight from senior staff, and is familiar with company standards, client expectations and typical engineering practices. Additionally, this individual prepares project “As-Builts” documentation, and field assignments when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

  • No degree required, Civil Technician Certificate or Vocational Certificate preferred 
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in preparation of contract/construction drawings, documents for linear (pipeline) and vertical (treatment facilities) water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrates a solid working knowledge about the respective engineering discipline
  • Ability to apply project engineering design criteria, equipment selections, and project specific/office CAD standards to research design requirements
  • Ability to prepare various types of water/wastewater infrastructure construction drawings and documents 
  • Proficient with discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
