We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer III - Aviation to join our Infrastructure - Aviation & Design Team at our office in Indianapolis, IN. 

 

The professional in this role is focused on aviation design, however, no prior aviation design experience is required. We are looking for a professional with grit and eagerness to learn the specific engineering discipline to join our join, apply now if this applies to you!

The Civil Engineer III - Aviation conducts the aviation design improvement/development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, the professional in this role works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

 

More specifically, the Civil Engineer III - Aviation works on aviation airfields, aviation landslides such as parking lots and roadways, airport facilities, and construction/project administration duties. This individual monitors the progress and performance of the project and acts immediately to resolve operational problems, minimize delays, recognize technical discrepancies in analytical results, and make appropriate corrections.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' related engineering experience required
  • Aviation experience preferred
  • Airfield drainage pavement design/lighting experience, land site design, taxiway design experience a plus but not required 
  • Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Understands QA/QC procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment, willingness to assist senior staff, eager to learn, coachable 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
  • Participation in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
