CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join our Infrastructure - Power & Manufacturing/Advanced Energy & Environmental Team at our office in Richmond, VA.

CHA’s engineers, ecologists and scientists partner with clients to develop practical solutions that strike the right balance between environmental sustainability, community needs and cost. We’re uniquely qualified to assist with environmental services from initial site characterization through remediation. CHA draws on the expertise of technical professionals with decades of practical experience in environmental site assessment, brownfield remediation, and mitigation techniques.

 

At CHA, the Environmental Project Manager works diligently to complete projects within the scope, budget, and schedule. This key role is responsible for managing the overall client relationship including any technical, financial, or logistical issues that may arise. Our Environmental Project Managers are skilled collaborators who are experts at problem solving and adapting and staying calm under pressure. The professional in this role sells and develops work with specific clients, ultimately leading to a “seller/doer” dual role, by understanding our client’s challenges, building partnerships with them, and providing creative solutions to those challenges.

 

The Environmental Project Manager coordinates contracts with the client, subcontractors, purchase orders, daily correspondence, and all other project related documents. The individual in this position is responsible for all project financials, manages subcontractor payments, and communicates updates to the client, management, and project team during monthly project review meetings with operations.

 Additionally, the Environmental Project Manager develops a specific health and safety plan in coordination with health and safety manager and is responsible for verifying that projects meet required QA/QC compliance as determined by Quality Management Plan.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture,Science, Planning, Engineering Management or a related degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • PE or equivalent professional license preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience required; minimum 3 years' project management experience required
  • "Seller-doer" mindset with strong relationship building skills required 
  • Experience preparing proposals, project plans, extra work authorizations and project closeout documents for projects required
  • Experience managing project accounting processes to include project budgeting, forecasts and cash management required
  • Experience understanding and interpreting client contract requirements
  • Ability to track and oversee multiple projects required
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera P6 preferred
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • A self-starter who excels in a high-paced work environment and works well independently
  • Ability to travel as needed required
