CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Environmental/Civil/Wastewater Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing - Advanced Energy/Environmental Team at our office in either Albany, NY or Fort Washington, PA.

Industrial environmental compliance, and clean and safe wastewater management is vital for a sustainable future. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective industrial compliance and wastewater design projects. We offer full engineering and support services for industrial facilities in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industry. Our service offerings include; initial compliance, planning, permitting, design, bidding, construction administration, start-up, certification, and ongoing operational assistance.

Working closely with professional engineers, the Environmental/Civil/Wastewater Engineer assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing process, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Environmental/Civil/Wastewater Engineer works on multiple client projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Environmental/Civil/Wastewater Engineer aids in preparing technical reports, design documents, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. This individual performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. to address environmental industrial wastewater issues for clients. The individual in this role will also solve routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate. Additionally, this individual will also assist our industrial clients with a wide range of environmental compliance including stormwater monitoring and reporting, best management practices, spill prevention, and solid and hazardous waste.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering Technology or related field required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum 4 years' discipline specific engineering experience required
  • Prior industrial wastewater experience required
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
  • Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
  • Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Hydraulic, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Ability to travel (less than 25% of the time)
