CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our Commercial & Institutional - Fire Protection Services Team at our office in Birmingham or Cullman, AL.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA Fire Protection Services offers highly specialized fire protection engineering services and cutting-edge solutions to the most challenging fire protection projects. Our knowledgeable staff manages complex industrial, commercial and design/build fire protection projects, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, ground storage tanks, underground piping, and special hazards.

 

The Fire Sprinkler Designer assists with the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and documents. This role will collaborate with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company expectations.

 

The Fire Sprinkler Designer will develop the ability to independently establish simple or routine contract drawings and will gain a working knowledge of discipline standards, codes, and systems through assisting with contract document preparation. The right candidate for this role will be eager to learn and problem-solve and should have working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and REVIT.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years’ fire protection design experience
  • Valid drivers’ license required
  • Proficient with discipline-based software (AutoCAD, HydroCAD, REVIT, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist senior staff
  • Some occasional travel (5-10%) may be required
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance preferred
