CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Principal Utilities Specialist to join our Power & Manufacturing - Utilities Infrastructure/Electric Transmission & Substations Team remotely from home.

CHA’s dedicated team of electric transmission and substation professionals prioritizes safety and technical excellence - from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. Whether it's AC or DC, overhead or underground, submarine, or indoor/outdoor installations, we cover it all. Our expertise extends to various insulation mediums, including air, gas, liquid, or solid, catering to transmission, distribution, and generation needs. We seamlessly handle AC/DC conversion across diverse applications, from traditional fossil fuels to cutting-edge renewable energy projects, and our proficiency extends to working with electrical-mechanical systems, seamlessly transitioning from legacy to intelligent protection and control systems. Our recognition in the industry is a testament to our prowess in automation, SCADA, communication design, and engineering.

 

The Principal Utilities Specialist is responsible for completing senior level utility assignments in compliance with construction, client, and industry standards, as well as acts as a liaison between the organization and clients. This key position at CHA provides oversight associated with a variety of projects and ensures all contract provisions are managed appropriately.

 

CHA’s Principal Utilities Specialist ensures system design and installation complies with local, state, and federal code requirements. This lead position requires expert communication with engineers, technical and construction staff, and clients. The Principal Utilities Specialist mentors and leads field operations and conducts independent field work

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in a related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Valid US driver’s license required
  • A minimum of 15 years of related experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of overhead line construction and/or gas distribution construction
  • Experience in management of overhead line crews
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel is required
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to physically navigate the field
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Ability to travel required
