CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Traffic Signal Field Technician to join our Infrastructure – Traffic ITS Team at our office in Duluth, GA.

From roadside sign inventories and safety audits to the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) innovations and applications, our professionals are adept at managing the entire design development and implementation process.

 

The Traffic Signal Field Technician provides technical support to engineering staff on ground level traffic signal and ITS infrastructure. The technician has a broad knowledge of traffic signal and ITS equipment and components and has the ability to troubleshoot, repair and/or install new equipment as issues arise. Specific duties may include the following:

 

  • Assist with installation, repair, and general maintenance at an intersection
  • Respond to traffic signal malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
  • Perform ground preventative maintenance activities at an intersection
  • Troubleshoot field equipment including traffic cabinet components and detection equipment
  • Troubleshoot ITS network infrastructure and plan/design additional infrastructure as needed 

 

This individual will work hand-in-hand with the Senior Field Technician and/or Project Engineer to complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements as well as performing any other related duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED required; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
  • IMSA Certification(s) preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a traffic or ITS technician, signal contractor, or electrician preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot traffic signal components/wiring and develop an action plan to resolve issue or relay information to appropriate staff
  • Ability to develop a design or repair sketch to be submitted to signal contractors clearly depicting necessary work to be done
  • Working knowledge of traffic signal software such as MaxTime, Tactics, Centracs and/or Cubic is preferred  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Ability to multitask on numerous projects simultaneously  

SALARY RANGE:

$57,000 - $69,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
