CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Field Crew Assistant to join our Infrastructure – Sewer Assessment & Rehabilitation Team at our office in Charlotte, NC.

YOUR IMPACT

Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every community’s well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, handling every step from assessment to planning and design in these critical situations.

 

The Field Crew Assistant provides technical support to the engineering staff on our Sewer Assessment & Rehabilitation Team. The professional in this role assists with physical inspection of sanitary sewer systems through flow monitoring, map reading and data entry, participates in smoke testing, conducts manhole inspections, and conducts field investigations and flow monitoring to identify inflow and infiltration. This individual is also expected to be able to assist with data management as well as other related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys preferred but not required
  • NASSCO certifications and/or Confined Space Entry certifications preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics, some knowledge of formulas required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (ex: Access)
  • Ability to operate various computer programs associated with sanitary sewer study
  • Ability to tolerate extreme environmental conditions; work will be performed primarily outdoors
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and other outdoor field tasks related to the sanitary sewer study
  • Ability to lift and or carry 30 pounds
  • Strong desire to mentor more junior field technicians, team oriented, attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license w/ ability to travel as needed

SALARY RANGE:

$17.78 - $21.63

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
