CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Technician to join our Power & Manufacturing – Environmental Team at our office in Colonie, NY.

With decades of experience in exploring a wide range of soil, bedrock, and groundwater conditions, CHA’s geotechnical team makes sure conditions are right for success. We evaluate the impacts of ground conditions for infrastructure projects and create sustainable geotechnical engineering solutions that consider final project cost, schedule and performance.
The Geotechnical Engineering Technician assists with oversight of subsurface explorations, thermal conductivity testing, landfill operational support, and preparation and creation of various types of reports. The professional in this role collaborates with Project Managers and Engineers on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
The Geotechnical Engineering Technician will observe and log borings and other types of explorations, install and monitor geotechnical instrumentation, perform thermal conductivity testing on geothermal projects, and assist with research, preparation, and creation of various types of reports including tables and figures. They will also perform data reduction, analysis, and assistance with reporting, assist with operational tasks at active and closed landfill sites and positively interface with clients and regulatory agencies.

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
