CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electric Distribution Engineer II to join our Power & Manufacturing - Electric Distribution Team at our office in Providence, RI. 

YOUR IMPACT

CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.

 

Working alongside CHA’s professional engineers, the Electric Distribution Engineer II supports the design development, implementation and technical analysis of technical various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. The Electric Distribution Engineer II aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. At CHA, our Electric Distribution Engineer II works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

 

The Electric Distribution Engineer II identifies technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections. Our Engineer II develops and maintains a familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the firm’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil or related Engineering field required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Minimum 2 years' related Engineering experience required
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
  • Familiar with QA/QC procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required

SALARY RANGE:

$70,000 - $82,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
