CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a High Voltage Electrical Engineer II to join our Power & Manufacturing - Generation & Energy Management Team located in St. Catharines, Ontario. 

YOUR IMPACT

CHA is a leader in sustainable district energy, power and thermal generation systems. Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups. Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substation, and more. From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy.

 

Working alongside CHA’s professional engineers, the High Voltage Electrical Engineer II supports the design development, implementation and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. The professional in this role aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. At CHA, this key role works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

 

The High Voltage Electrical Engineer II identifies technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections. This individual develops and maintains a familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the firm’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience is required
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Demonstrates a good working knowledge of the respective engineering field as well as proven ability to practically apply it in a professional environment
  • Good working knowledge of electrical codes (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, CSA, OESC)
  • Familiar with QA/QC procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
  • Participation in a professional engineering society/organization is preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$33.65 - $38.46 CAD

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
