CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing – Electric Transmission & Substations Team at our Reading, PA office.

CHA’s dedicated team of electric transmission and substation professionals prioritizes safety and technical excellence - from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. We are committed to delivering top-tier solutions for both new and existing electrical power infrastructure. We specialize in all types and the full spectrum of power delivery systems. Whether it's AC or DC, overhead or underground, submarine, or indoor/outdoor installations, we cover it all. Our expertise extends to various insulation mediums, including air, gas, liquid, or solid, catering to transmission, distribution, and generation needs. We seamlessly handle AC/DC conversion across diverse applications, from traditional fossil fuels to cutting-edge renewable energy projects, and our proficiency extends to working with electrical-mechanical systems, seamlessly transitioning from legacy to intelligent protection and control systems. Our recognition in the industry is a testament to our prowess in automation, SCADA, communication design, and engineering.

Working closely with professional engineers, the Electrical Engineer assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, this individual works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements. 

The Electrical Engineer aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The professional in this role performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, and clients. The Electrical Engineer solves routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
• EIT certification is preferred
• No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
• Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
• Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
• Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
• Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences  

$70,000 - $78,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
