CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Corporate Controller to join our Corporate – Finance Team at our Albany, NY office.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's corporate support teams provide vital specialized services to our technical business lines and market teams including, financial, legal, marketing, business development, human resources, information technology and operational services.  These teams may also support clients when their skills and expertise are required.

 

The Assistant Corporate Controller focuses on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the firm’s financial reporting, with an emphasis on oversight of general ledger accounting and financial activities. The professional in this role leads financial and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) auditing, tax preparation and reporting, integrations of acquired companies and other compliance regulations. The Assistant Controller collaborates with other finance groups to align goals and objectives and leads the development of long-term organization plans and strategies to support the company’s growth objectives. This key role may be involved in new company-wide initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and system conversions.

 

Additionally, the Assistant Corporate Controller encourages the use of digital tools and technologies in the accounting and financial operations teams to improve productivity and collaboration and works with IT to improve existing and new accounting systems. This role includes building a continuous learning and development program for the accounting team to stay updated with industry trends and best practices, as well as supporting the professional growth and development of team members.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting leadership experience required
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) a plus
  • Experience in an engineering or service industry preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, Deltek a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in risk assessment, development and implementation of financial processes and controls
  • Skilled in evaluation and automation of routine tasks like reconciliations and other accounting processes
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, a complex corporate structure and Private Equity preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills and attention to detail required
  • Strong ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
  • Evaluate and accept change, and execute the required activities to satisfy the company’s objectives
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results

SALARY RANGE:

$135,000 - $150,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
