CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Corporate – Operations Team at our Albany, NY office or working remotely.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's corporate support teams provide vital specialized services to our technical business lines and market teams including financial, legal, marketing, business development, human resources, information technology and operational services.  These teams may also support clients when their skills and expertise are required.

 

The Senior Data Engineer will serve as a technical and strategic leader, supporting both internal and external technology initiatives while also guiding testing and training efforts. This role will play a key part in data transformation projects, particularly during mergers and acquisitions, and will be responsible for designing and maintaining robust data architectures and models. The individual will work closely with the analytics team to analyze complex datasets and develop impactful visualizations that turn data into actionable insights. Additionally, the role includes managing ETL processes, integrating APIs, and working with data models across both on-premises and cloud environments to ensure data integrity and seamless data flow throughout the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or related field required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in data engineering; with a focus on M&A data transformation and building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL)
  • Experience with information technology systems design, structured programming concepts, and object-oriented design principles 
  • Experience with high level databases and computer programming tools such as Visual Basic, SQL procedural programming, Microsoft .NET development, and MS Access 
  • Proficiency with relational database design and management including Structured Query Language (SQL) 
  • Experience with ERP systems Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint preferred 
  • Experience in the A&E industry preferred 
  • Knowledge of additional data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g. Python, R, Power BI, SQL, etc.) preferred 
  • Experience with Data Warehousing platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, OneLake, or Azure Synapse
  • Experience with iPaaS (enterprise platform as a service) such as Workato, etc.
  • Experience designing and implementing unified data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including orchestration of data pipelines and integration across services
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms with Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with APIs & Integration working with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party data sources
  • General knowledge of financial and accounting processes preferred
  • Creating and optimizing data models for analytics and reporting
  • Building and maintaining data lakes and data warehouses
  • Strong leadership and project management skills 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience with M&A data integration, legacy system migrations, or enterprise-scale data transformations is highly valuable
  • Implementing data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes
  • Designing scalable and efficient data architectures

SALARY RANGE:

$85,000 - $100,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
