CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Development Leader to join our Generation and Energy Management Team.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA is a leading advanced energy engineering firm specializing in innovative generation and energy management solutions for the Municipalities, Universities, Schools and Hospitals (MUSH), Utility, Federal and Aviation markets. We are seeking a results-driven Development Leader with a strong U.S. network of contacts withing the industry, an engineering or sustainability background, a broad understanding of the energy and power generation markets, and proven sales and business development experience within the built environment and consulting engineering industry.

 

The Business Development Leader will develop, implement, and execute a sales strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business strategy and collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue new business opportunities. At CHA, this key role will maintain a client database (CRM), generate and follow-up on leads; develop content in support of social media, marketing campaigns, website, and industry conferences; and coach staff on client engagement and business development strategies.

 

Additionally, the Business Development Leader will oversee the annual sales budget and sales pipeline and actively participate in networking groups and attend conferences, meetings, and industry events. The professional in this role will work closely with the business leadership to ensure strategic alignment, provide weekly updates, support the development of marketing materials, and assist in reviewing proposals as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering consulting, business development, sales, or a related role within the MUSH, Utilities, Federal and Aviation markets
  • Strong existing network within the industry and actively participates in conferences, including chairing speaker sessions
  • Subject matter expert in State and/or Utility energy efficiency and renewables programs
  • Experience leading and writing proposals to meet client expectations
  • Technically astute and strategic in thinking to properly position the team for strong technical and financial performance and client satisfaction
  • Must be an articulate and persuasive communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills, both one-on-one and in front of groups
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company, and influence decisions from the top down and bottom up
  • Experience working with engineering firms, contract manufacturers, or renewables solutions providers.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth, securing long-term contracts, and expanding market share
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into business value for customers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with C-suite executives, procurement teams, and engineering leaders
  • Trustworthy with the ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive information or situations with discretion 
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to see patterns, be a fast learner/thinker and a good decision maker
  • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and sound judgement
  • Ability to work effectively while multi-tasking to meet a variety of deadlines
  • Committed to continuous improvement; ability to anticipate and be forward thinking

  • Extensive travel within the Northeast, USA will be required

SALARY RANGE:

$165,000 - $190,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
