CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Principal Scientist to join our Power & Manufacturing – Environmental Team working remotely in Oregon.  

YOUR IMPACT

CHA’s engineers, ecologists and scientists partner with clients to develop practical solutions that strike the right balance between environmental sustainability, community needs and cost. We’re uniquely qualified to assist with environmental services from initial site characterization through remediation.  CHA draws on the expertise of technical professionals with decades of practical experience in environmental site assessment, brownfield remediation, and mitigation techniques.

 

The Principal Scientist is responsible for leading the technical execution of major projects including planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed phases of major projects. This key role will lead scientific teams working on multiple assignments, varying in size and complexity, and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures as well as laboratory policies. The professional in this role serves as a technical expert in their discipline, performing technical reviews of analytical data and methods and directing operational improvements as well as promoting innovation through the evaluation of new analytical techniques.

 

The Principal Scientist interacts with project management and other function teams, reporting findings to clients and company leadership as required. This individual develops relationships with current clients and assists business development in the preparation of proposals. Additionally, the Principal Scientist will complete field assignments as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of related, progressive technical and management experience required
  • Valid US driver’s license required
  • Proficiency with ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has proficient theoretical scientific knowledge
  • Demonstrates and promotes a positive attitude toward position, group, and company
  • License/certification in technical discipline is preferred 

SALARY RANGE:

$104,000 - $132,500

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
