CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Field Crew Assistant II to join our Infrastructure – Water Team at our Charlotte, NC office.

YOUR IMPACT

Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every community’s well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater and stormwater projects, handling every step from assessment to planning and design in these critical situations.

 

The Field Crew Assistant II provides technical support to the engineering staff on our Sewer Assessment & Rehabilitation Team. The professional in this role conducts physical inspection of sanitary sewer systems through flow monitoring, map reading and data entry. The Field Crew Assistant II participates in smoke testing and manhole inspections as well as conducts field investigations and flow monitoring to identify inflow and infiltration. Following inspections and testing, this individual reports all findings in accordance with established technical standards.

 

The Field Crew Assistant II assists with data management, including collecting and assembling data to assist in field investigations and reviewing data collected in the field to ensure quality and accuracy. This individual is expected to develop a familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations as well as the firm’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys
  • Valid driver’s license required 
  • Strong knowledge of basic mathematics and formulas required 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (ex: Access) 
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level field and engineering staff 
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations 
  • Ability to operate various computer programs associated with sanitary sewer study 
  • Ability to tolerate extreme environmental conditions; work will be performed primarily outdoors 
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and other outdoor field tasks related to sanitary sewer study 
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 30 pounds
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • NASSCO certifications preferred
  • Confined Space Entry certifications preferred

SALARY RANGE:

$22.11 - $25.96

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
