CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Substation – Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Electric Transmission Team at a client site in Spring Valley, NY, where you’ll support the planning, analysis, and delivery of infrastructure essential to the safe and efficient transfer of electricity from power generation to distribution networks. This is an exciting opportunity to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with subject matter experts, and contribute to innovative solutions that bolster grid resiliency and support the energy transition.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for electric transmission and substation projects
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of electric transmission projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
  • Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in critical electric infrastructure
  • Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $120,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
