CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer III to join our Electric Transmission Team in a remote role, contributing to the planning, design, and delivery of high‑voltage transmission solutions that move power safely and efficiently from generation sources to the communities that depend on it. This is your opportunity to support critical grid infrastructure, solve complex technical challenges, and play a meaningful role in shaping a more resilient and future‑ready energy system.

What You'll Do:

  • Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports for electric transmission projects, including overhead and underground transmission systems and related assessments
  • Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff or technical leadership
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard procedures and best practices that support grid reliability, safety, and system performance
  • Monitor project progress and performance, acting quickly to resolve operational issues and minimize delays on critical electric transmission initiatives
  • Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff or management, including field assignments associated with transmission assets

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings
  • Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$85,000 - $95,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
