CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge Team in Columbia, SC, where you’ll play a key role in designing, evaluating, and delivering innovative structural solutions. From rehabilitation to new structures, you’ll contribute to projects that enhance safety, improve mobility, and support the long-term resilience of our nation’s bridge network—while mentoring engineers and shaping high-quality technical delivery.

• Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for bridge projects
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
• Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital infrastructure
• Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
• Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Advanced proficiency with bridge design and modeling software (LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office required
• Specific experience with prestressed girder design, bridge replacement, culvert design, and load ratings as well as the ability to sign and seal design documents
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Ability to lead a team and work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Contribute to meaningful bridge projects—from inspections and rehabilitation to complex structural design—that improve safety and extend the life of critical infrastructure
• Work alongside bridge specialists delivering practical, cost-effective solutions grounded in deep technical expertise and real-world application

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
